Interface Plots and Tables

A Plots object uses the same simulation data and supported plot renderer as model-canvas plots. Select the object and use Behavior to configure its type and data; use Style for frame layout, fonts, colors, border, palette, axes/time range, and table range settings.

Setup

Plot Type selects any supported plot type. Time Series and Area plots also expose Show Hover Tooltip.

Changing the type updates the automatic title when Comparative Across Runs is off. You can enter a custom Plot Title in the appearance section and choose Show Legend.

Series and Data

Search model variables, then choose Add to build the series list. Each selected series can have a custom Legend Title. Remove individual series or use Clear Series.

Comparative mode uses one selected series across multiple recorded runs, so selecting another variable replaces the comparative series. Sankey and Heatmap do not use comparative mode.

The plot displays available simulation results. If required data or series are missing, the plot shows an empty or explanatory state rather than inventing values.

Comparative Runs

Comparative Across Runs compares the selected series across simulation run history.

For comparative Tables, Group Columns chooses whether columns are grouped by run or by variable, according to the available grouping choices.

For plot types that support comparative confidence bands:

• Plot confidence intervals shows the requested bands.
• Include mean line overlays the mean.
• Confidence intervals accepts comma-separated percentage levels, such as 50, 75, 95.

Confidence bands require enough compatible recorded runs. Invalid, duplicate, or unsupported interval entries are ignored or normalized by the plot renderer.

Axes and Time Range

Cartesian plot types expose:

• X Axis / Y Axis titles
• Set zero axis if possible
• Optional Y Min / Y Max
• Reset Y Limits (Auto)
• X Labels / Y Labels, each limited to 2–20

Automatic Y limits come from the displayed data. Explicit limits override them. Use a Y Min below Y Max; invalid limits can produce an empty or flattened plot.

Time Series and Area plots also expose optional Time Window Start / End and Reset Time Window (Auto). Auto uses the available simulation time range. An explicit window limits displayed samples and should have Start below End.

Tables

Choose Table as the Plot Type. Table Settings include:

• Time Orientation: time values arranged vertically or horizontally
• Optional Start Time
• Optional Stop Time
• Optional Interval
• Reset Table Range (Auto)

Auto range uses the available simulation bounds and interval. An explicit Interval must be positive. The table samples the requested times from available results; it cannot create resolution finer than the simulation output itself.

Comparative Tables can compare one series across recorded runs and can group columns with Group Columns.

Imported Plot Annotations

When a model plot is pasted or imported into Interface Designer, supported markers and shaded bands are preserved in its plot configuration. The Interface inspector does not currently create or edit those annotations. Edit them on the model plot, then import the plot again if they need to change.

Limits

• Comparative mode is unavailable for Sankey and Heatmap.
• Confidence intervals appear only on plot types that support comparative confidence bands.
• Hover tooltips are exposed only for Time Series and Area.
• Axis controls appear only for applicable plot types.
• Table range controls appear only for Table.
• Time-window controls appear only for Time Series and Area.
• Plot series must be simulation declarations present in the model.
• Recorded runs must be compatible with the selected variable and plot type.
