Import, export, and print
Open and save models
Open accepts .yano projects, legacy Yano JSON or .simsd files, XMILE/XML/STMX, and Vensim MDL models. Imported models can show compatibility warnings when a source feature has no exact equivalent. Review the model, equations, units, and run settings before simulation.
Save updates the current model file. Save As can create:
- full-fidelity native projects:
.yano; - model-only interchange:
.json(saved runs and imported media are omitted); - XMILE files:
.xmile,.xml, or.stmx; - images:
.png,.jpg,.jpeg,.bmp,.gif,.svg,.tif, or.tiff; - PDF:
.pdf.
Saving as an image or PDF exports the canvas; it does not create an editable model file. Keep the .yano project as the full-fidelity editable source.
Export reports
Sensitivity and optimization runs create CSV reports. Model Documentation can export HTML, CSV, or LaTeX.
Use Print Preview to inspect page composition, then Print to use the standard macOS print dialog. For a portable page-oriented copy, save the canvas as PDF.
