Run and Control a Simulation
The simulation bar appears below the model canvas.
Simulate
Select Simulate to calculate the configured interval. Progress and the current model time appear in the bar. A completed run supplies the canvas plots and Workspace.
Advance
When Advance Mode is enabled and the model is eligible, Advance moves the simulation forward by the configured Advance Time. This is useful for staged or interactive operation.
Pause, Resume, and Stop
- Pause temporarily halts a running simulation.
- Resume continues a paused run.
- Stop ends the current run.
Pause is unavailable in Diagram Mode and when no simulation is running.
Restore
Restore returns an advanced or interactive simulation to its restorable state when one exists. It is disabled when there is no saved simulation state to restore.
Playhead
After a run, drag the time slider to inspect results at sampled times. The playhead uses available result timestamps; it does not re-run the model.
When controls are disabled
Check the following:
- the model passes validation
- Diagram Mode is off
- Start Time, Stop Time, and DT form a valid range
- Advance Mode and Advance Time are valid when using Advance
- no incompatible simulation operation is already running
