Configure Canvas Plots
Select a canvas plot to edit it in the Model Inspector.
Behavior settings
Available controls depend on plot type:
- Plot Type changes the visualization.
- Series / Flows chooses model output.
- Layers can set mark type, axis, opacity, line width and style, fill, markers, endpoint labels, ribbons, or comparative behavior.
- Faceting separates array data by a selected dimension.
- Markers add a single X or Y reference.
- Shaded Bands highlight a range using fixed values or variable values.
When a Bar plot uses Histogram presentation, controls include bin count, range, statistics, PDF normalization, and cumulative display. Heatmaps include color range and color-bar ticks.
Style settings
Common options include:
- Left/Right Axis or X/Y Axis titles to label scales
- Set zero axis if possible
- Y Min / Y Max and Time Window to constrain the visible range, with reset buttons to restore automatic ranges
- Table Time Orientation, Start Time, Stop Time, Interval, and Reset Table Range (Auto)
- legend visibility and position
- playhead value box and hover tooltip
- grid, border, and transparent background
- built-in or shared custom palette
- per-series colors
- line style and width
- marker shape, size, stroke, and fill
- table row colors, column auto-sizing, and export marking
Export
Use the selected plot's context menu to export PNG, JPG, SVG, or PDF.
Limitations
- A plot cannot display a variable absent from the available simulation result.
- Manual limits can hide valid data; reset to automatic limits when a plot appears empty.
- Comparative layers require compatible saved runs and the intended runs enabled for comparison.
